MyStory

A winding path through an olive grove in soft golden morning light.

For as long as I can remember, I knew I wanted to be a mom. When people asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I was afraid saying “mom” was not a good enough answer. So, I found a practical answer: teaching! I became a high school math and PE teacher, thinking it would at least give me a family friendly schedule.

But life didn’t quite go as planned. After becoming a mom, I experienced significant postpartum anxiety and sought help in therapy. My therapist gave me more than just coping tools, she gave me a place to feel cared for, understood, and supported. She helped me learn how to show up for my son, but just as importantly, how to show up for myself. I began learning that I could be a good mom, wife, daughter, and friend without being perfect, and that my own feelings and needs deserved care, too.

Over time, therapy helped me navigate life’s unexpected turns, question beliefs that tore me down, and rebuild my life from the inside out. I learned to honor my needs, set boundaries, and recognize what healthy relationships could look like. As I learned to treat myself with more compassion, my relationships began to change, too. I discovered that we don’t have to lose ourselves to love others well, and that healthy relationships can make room for honesty, respect, and growth.

“We don’t have to lose ourselves to love others well.”

My own growth in therapy eventually led me down a new career path. With my background in education, I initially thought I’d work with children. But in those early years, I started noticing how much the struggles children experience can be connected to what’s happening in the relationships around them. I found myself drawn to helping couples and individuals work through their relationship struggles, because I’ve seen how much our relationships shape us. I also know that when we begin healing our relationship with ourselves and learning healthier ways to connect with others, the impact can reach so much further than we might imagine.

Today

I’m a therapist,but I’m human, too.

Today, I bring both my professional training and my own life experiences into the work I do. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, question yourself, and wonder how things will work out. I’ve learned that we don’t have to have everything figured out to begin healing, and we don’t have to do it alone. My hope is to offer you a space where you can let your guard down, be honest about what you’re going through, and feel accepted even in the messy, uncertain parts of life. Together, we can work toward a deeper understanding of yourself and healthier, more fulfilling relationships with the people you love.
